Our Journey: From Mascot to Mission
My name is Sidd, and I’m the Founder & CEO of WebSloth. What started as a little joke (branding myself around a sloth) grew into something much bigger. When I was a kid I always felt a special pull toward sloths. Maybe it was because I loved the Ice Age movies, and friends nicknamed me “Sidd from Ice Age.” So yes, I leaned into it; the sloth became my symbol.
Over time that symbol became real to me. I discovered that several sloth species are endangered, and that hit me hard. I couldn’t bear the idea that one day these gentle animals might vanish. So the sloth moved from mascot to mission: WebSloth became more than branding, it became purpose.
Why We Partner with the Sloth Conservation Foundation
We’re proud to support the The Sloth Conservation Foundation (SloCo). They’re a non-profit dedicated to saving wild sloths and their rainforest homes across Central & South America.
Here’s what they do:
- They fund and publish rigorous research into sloth biology and ecology.
- They build “Sloth-Crossing” canopy bridges so sloths can safely move through fragmented forests instead of having to cross the ground and risk injury.
They empower local communities via education and conservation outreach, because saving sloths means working hand-in-hand with people who share their habitat.
They fight habitat loss, dog attacks, electrocutions, road collisions; real threats to sloths’ survival.
What This Means for WebSloth
Without sloths, WebSloth wouldn’t exist the same way. The sloth isn’t just our logo; it’s our story and our inspiration. So when we donate a portion of every project’s profits to support The Sloth Conservation Foundation, we’re staying true to that origin.
By doing this we’re helping to:
- Protect sloth habitat.
- Support education and coexistence programs.
- Build real solutions so sloths can keep their place in this world.
Join Us on This Mission
Whether you’re partnering with us, following our story, or just learning about it; you’re helping sloths. Because when WebSloth succeeds, sloths benefit.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
- Sidd, Founder & CEO, WebSloth
